About The Position

Performs specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students. This position applies to employees who have been trained and who integrate significant paraprofessional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support. The position is located at Village and works 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 182 work days per year. Salary is $22.11–$29.22 per hour in 9 annual steps, with placement based on relevant experience. Medical, dental, vision, and employee life insurance are available to employees who work 4 or more hours per day. The district provides a full contribution for employees working 6 or more hours per day and a 50% contribution for employees working 4–5.99 hours per day.

Requirements

Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Typically requires 48 degree-eligible college credit units.
Typically requires one year of experience working in a classroom environment containing students with special needs.
Additional college coursework may substitute for some experience.
Additional experience in an instructional support or health care environment may substitute for some post-secondary education.
May require a valid driver's license.
Requires a valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate.
Required application documents include CPR/First Aid certification, proof of NCLB compliance through 48 semester college units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam, proof of high school graduation or equivalent, and a resume showing required experience.
