About The Position

Performs specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students. This position applies to employees trained to integrate significant paraprofessional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support. The position is based at Village and is scheduled for 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, across 182 work days per year. Salary is $22.11–$29.22 per hour in 9 annual steps, with placement based on relevant experience.

Requirements

• Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically requires 48 degree-eligible college credit units.
• Typically requires one year of experience working in a classroom environment containing students with special needs.
• Additional college coursework may substitute for some experience.
• Additional experience in an instructional support or health care environment may substitute for some post-secondary education.
• Requires a valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Applicants must provide evidence of NCLB compliance through 48 semester college units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam.
• Applicants must provide proof of high school graduation or equivalent and a resume showing required experience.
