About The Position

Performs specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students. The position is for paraeducators trained to integrate significant paraprofessional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support. The role is based at Village and is scheduled for 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, over 182 work days per year. Salary is $22.11–$29.22 per hour in 9 annual steps, with placement based on relevant experience.

Requirements

• Typically, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 48 degree-eligible college credit units, or compliance with NCLB requirements through 48 semester college units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam.
• One year of experience working in a classroom environment containing students with special needs; additional college coursework may substitute for some experience, and additional experience in instructional support or a health care environment may substitute for some post-secondary education.
• A valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.
• Submit CPR/First Aid Certification, NCLB Compliance documentation, proof of high school graduation or equivalent, and a resume showing required experience.
