About The Position

Performs specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students. The position is for employees trained to integrate significant para-professional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support. The role is located at Rio Linda Prep and is scheduled for 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, over 182 work days per year. Salary is $22.11–$29.22 per hour in 9 annual steps, with placement based on relevant experience. Medical, dental, vision, and employee life insurance are available to employees working at least 4 hours per day. The district contributes the full cost for employees working 6 or more hours per day and 50% for employees working 4–5.99 hours per day.

Requirements

Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Typically requires 48 degree-eligible college credit units.
Typically requires one year of experience working in a classroom environment containing students with special needs.
Additional college coursework may substitute for some experience.
Additional experience in an instructional support or health care environment may substitute for some post-secondary education.
Requires a valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate.
May require a valid driver’s license.
Provide CPR/First Aid certification.
Meet NCLB compliance through 48 semester college units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam.
Provide proof of high school graduation or equivalent, such as a high school diploma, transcripts, or GED.
Provide a resume showing clear evidence of required experience.
