This position involves working with and supervising students who have special needs, specifically disabled students with significant physical disabilities in a life skills classroom setting and during additional school activities. The paraeducator will collaborate with the special education teacher, other paraeducators, and specialists. Duties include implementing educational instruction, assisting with diapering, feeding (including tube feeding), lifting, and positioning students. The role may also involve administering medication and/or catheterizing students after receiving training. The paraeducator will be responsible for keeping documentation to monitor student progress and will perform all duties within the scope of Kennewick School District policies and procedures. Other job-related duties may be assigned.
