About The Position

The Para Educator position is for 40 hours and supports students in TK through 5th grade in ELD/English. The posting describes Level II and Level III qualification pathways. At least one year of experience working with students in a structured classroom or equivalent setting is desired. Other experience working with students in an organized setting and with people of various cultures is also noted. Some positions may require the ability to speak, read, and write a designated second language.

Requirements

• Para Educator Level II: High school diploma/GED or equivalent, and successful completion of a qualifying assessment exam assessing knowledge and abilities in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. Proof of 48 semester units from an accredited college or university, or an associate degree, may substitute for the qualifying assessment exam.
• Para Educator Level III: High school diploma/GED or equivalent, and proof of a BA/BS degree or higher from a United States college or university, with a transcript copy (unofficial is acceptable), or paraprofessional testing.
• Proof of high school graduation must be translated/evaluated if in another language.
