About The Position

The Para-Educator supports students with disabilities in classrooms, community-based experiences, or one-on-one settings. Under the guidance of certified or licensed staff, the Para-Educator assists with instructional, behavioral, and health-related activities to help students achieve their Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goals. The position is based at Bentley Elementary and follows a schedule of 185 days, 7.5 hours per day.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Physical ability to lift or move students and perform essential duties.
Must meet Michigan DHS Child Abuse and Neglect Registry clearance requirements.

Nice To Haves

College coursework in child development, education, psychology, or special education.
Experience working with children or adults with special needs.

Responsibilities

Support students with disabilities in classrooms, community-based experiences, or one-on-one settings.
Assist with instructional, behavioral, and health-related activities under the guidance of certified or licensed staff.
