About The Position

The Para Educator works with students in a structured classroom or another organized setting. The posting describes Level II and Level III qualification pathways. Some positions may require speaking, reading, and writing in a designated second language.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working with students in a structured classroom or equivalent setting is desired.
• Experience working with students in an organized setting and some experience working with people of various cultures.
• Some positions may require the ability to speak, read, and write a designated second language.
• For Para Educator Level II: High school diploma/GED or equivalent, plus successful completion of a qualifying assessment exam evaluating knowledge and abilities in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics. Proof of 48 semester units from an accredited college or university, or an associate degree, may substitute for the exam.
• For Para Educator Level III: High school diploma/GED or equivalent, plus proof of a BA/BS degree or higher from a U.S. college or university (an unofficial transcript is acceptable), or paraprofessional testing. Proof of high school graduation must be translated/evaluated if in another language.
