About The Position

Help create fresh, nutritious meals that fuel learning and support student well-being. As a Pantry/Salad Chef, you'll prepare vibrant salads, fresh fruits, sandwiches, and other cold menu offerings that showcase our commitment to REAL Food and exceptional hospitality. You'll play an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety, and presentation in a fast-paced private school environment.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in food preparation, pantry, deli, salad, or culinary production.
  • Passion for preparing fresh, high-quality food and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
  • Ability to follow recipes, production guides, and portion standards with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening.

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handler Card preferred, or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fresh salads, sandwiches, wraps, fruit displays, and other cold menu offerings for daily meal service.
  • Wash, cut, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and production schedules.
  • Ensure food is presented attractively and consistently to create an exceptional dining experience.
  • Follow recipes, portion standards, and food safety practices to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Properly label, date, store, and rotate products to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times.
  • Support catered events, special programs, and seasonal menu offerings as needed.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to deliver timely, high-quality service to students, faculty, and guests.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate product or equipment needs to leadership.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on hospitality, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
