About The Position

The Palletizer operates strapping machines and automatic palletizers and supplies the materials needed to build loads in a glass manufacturing environment. The role includes maintaining equipment and load integrity, identifying equipment issues, and performing cleanup and housekeeping duties. The position requires working a 12-hour rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Good interpersonal skills.
Highly safety conscious.
Able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Solid attendance record in previous employment.
Able to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis.
Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain supplies of pallets, tier sheets, shrouds, strapping, and other materials required for palletizing and strapping ware.
Check that straps are properly applied around bulk and cased pallet loads; place string ties and manual straps when required.
Operate automatic palletizers and automatic strapping machines to prepare loads of ware.
Unjam strapping machines and automatic palletizers as required.
Straighten loads, replace bottles, discard damaged bulking materials, and check load integrity.
Check oil levels in VFC regulators of automatic palletizers.
Identify equipment problems, make very minor adjustments when appropriate, and report malfunctions to the designated employee.
Manually palletize loads when automatic equipment malfunctions.
Perform cleanup and housekeeping duties.
