About The Position

The Palletizer is responsible for inspecting completed boxes to ensure they meet customer specifications, discarding non-conforming materials while being mindful of waste. This role involves wrapping finished products, stacking cases onto pallets according to specifications, and moving finished pallets to designated storage areas using a hand truck. The position requires maintaining good housekeeping in work areas, performing duties with minimal supervision, and reporting any issues to the Supervisor. Adherence to company safety policies, GMP, PPE, and SOPs is mandatory for food and personal safety. The role also emphasizes cooperation with colleagues and a positive attitude. Due to production fluctuations, employees may be required to work varying hours. The ability to safely operate an electric pallet jack after training is necessary. The position is on the 2nd shift, from 3pm to 11:30pm.

Requirements

Able to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods of time
Able to perform various physical activities such as heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 50 lbs while following safe lifting procedures throughout shift
Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
Work and communicate in an environment with moving mechanical parts and loud noise requiring hearing protection
Able to balance while ascending/descending stairs using safety procedures
Able to twist, bend, lay, kneel, reach, and crouch with proper body mechanics
Vision abilities include: close, distant, and color vision
Able to adjust to changing demands and environments quickly
Employee will be exposed to variable air temperatures (generally between 35 and 50 degrees throughout shift), wet and/or humid conditions, high locations, vibration, chemicals

Responsibilities

Inspect completed boxes to verify conformance to customer specifications, discarding all non-conformance materials while being waste conscious of materials at all times.
Able to wrap completed, inspected product if required or with other required packaging material.
Stack/palletize finished product cases on appropriate pallets, according to customer specifications.
Move finished pallets of product to the identified storage area with hand truck.
Keep all work areas in good manufacturing housekeeping condition at all times.
Perform all duties with minimal supervision requirements.
Inform Supervisor of problems that may arise.
Avoid unsafe practices or carelessness in accordance with company safety policies and training.
Follow mandatory GMP, PPE, and SOPs at all times to maintain food and personal safety.
Cooperate with fellow employees, is a team player with a “can do” attitude.
Must be able to safely operate an electric pallet jack with training.
Perform all other duties or tasks as required by supervision.
