About The Position

Austin Industrial is hiring a Painter to prepare and paint wood and metal surfaces, equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other work areas. Requirements

• Four years of journeyman-level experience.
• NCCER certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; the employer is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
• Able to work at heights.
• Able to meet the position’s physical, mental, and environmental requirements, including lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, working at elevations or in confined spaces, and wearing required PPE.
• Able to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
• Able to exercise sound judgment, solve problems, maintain attention to detail, manage stress, and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and receive verbal instructions.
• Prepare surfaces by removing dirt, oil, grease, and old paint; smoothing cracks; and coating or filling holes.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to create smooth surfaces when needed.
• Select and mix coating liquids to produce the desired color according to specifications, using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level when needed.
• Apply paint using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
