About The Position

Groome Industrial Service Group is seeking an Industrial Painter (Blaster/Sprayer) to perform industrial surface preparation and coating application. The company provides specialty maintenance services across industries including power generation, refining, shipping, manufacturing, aviation, and municipal services. Its work focuses on reducing harmful emissions, improving plant performance, and extending the life of industrial equipment and infrastructure. The position requires at least five years of experience in industrial surface preparation and coating applications, including industrial airless application. The Painter uses abrasive blasting, hand and power tools, pressure washing, and other preparation methods, and applies coatings by brush, roller, and airless spray equipment. The role requires understanding coating specifications and jobsite requirements, working safely at heights and near moving industrial equipment, and operating high/aerial reach equipment up to 80 feet. The employee must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, night shifts, and overtime if required, and perform demanding physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions for shifts of up to 12 hours.

Requirements

At least five years of experience in industrial surface preparation and coating applications.
Experience in industrial airless application.
Experience with abrasive blasting, hand-tool cleaning, power-tool cleaning, pressure washing, and other industrial surface preparation methods.
Experience applying industrial coatings using brush, roller, and airless spray equipment.
Ability to operate high/aerial reach equipment up to 80 feet.
Ability to read and understand coating specifications, product data sheets, and jobsite requirements.
Ability to work safely at heights and around moving industrial equipment.
Strong understanding of surface preparation, coating application, dry film thickness, recoat windows, and general industrial painting practices.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions; ability to read and write; basic math skills.
Must have acceptable identification and pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.
Ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds on occasion.
Ability to withstand 70 psi of back pressure.
Frequent reaching above shoulder height and below the waist; occasional stooping, kneeling, or bending.
Ability to move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
Frequent use of hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects.
Ability to perform hard physical work for up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, night shifts, and overtime if required.
