About The Position

The Painter will apply paints and various coatings to all types of surfaces, and detach and reattach wall-mounted pictures, equipment, and devices. This role is responsible for improving and maintaining the overall interior appearance by painting and redecorating walls, woodwork, and fixtures, requiring knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint for different applications. Key tasks include preparing surfaces for painting, applying paint with a spray gun or brush, and potentially mixing colors and other paint ingredients. The position also involves maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of work areas, including the workshop, and repairing drywall. The maintenance painter's work generally requires rounded training and experience, typically acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years experience in healthcare facilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Possess a broad knowledge of facility operations and maintenance

Nice To Haves

• Experience with a Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS) highly desired.
• OSHA-10, OSHA 30, or Haz Work desired.

Responsibilities

• Improves and maintains the overall interior appearance by painting and redecorating walls, woodwork and fixtures. Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications.
• Prepares surfaces for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices, applies paint with a spray gun or brush.
• May mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.
• In general, the work of the maintenance painter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of the work areas including the workshop.
• Repairs drywall.
• Assists others as part of the maintenance team to perform other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.
