About The Position

Wastequip is hiring an Industrial Painter to support its Winamac, Indiana location. This full-time role is performed on the first shift in a fast-paced production environment. The painter uses an airless paint finishing system to spray machines, manufactured products, or work areas with protective or decorative coatings such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer. Pay is $20.46.

Requirements

• Less than a high school education, up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with using an airless paint finishing system in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean grease and dirt from products.
• Apply masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to create a smooth surface.
• Select and mix coating liquid to produce the desired color.
• Pour coating liquid into a spray container and connect the gun to an air hose.
• Adjust sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate spray width and pressure.
• Operate the sprayer and direct coating onto work surfaces to apply a prime or finish coat.
• Use a brush to coat areas inaccessible to the hand sprayer.
• Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Heat and spray wax onto products after they are tested.
• Remove rust from metal with acid, a wire brush, or steel wool.
