About The Position

Wastequip is recruiting an Industrial Painter to support its Winamac, Indiana location. This full-time role works in a fast-paced production environment and uses an airless paint finishing system to apply protective or decorative coatings—such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel coat, or lacquer—to machines, manufactured products, or work areas. The position pays $20.46 and is on the first shift.

Requirements

• Less than high school education, or up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with using an airless paint finishing system in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean grease and dirt from products.
• Apply masking tape to parts and areas that should not be coated.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to create a smooth surface.
• Select and mix coating liquid to produce the desired color.
• Pour coating liquid into a spray container and connect the gun to an air hose.
• Adjust sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate spray width and pressure.
• Operate the sprayer and direct the spray onto work surfaces to apply primer or finish coats.
• Use a brush to coat areas inaccessible to the hand sprayer.
• Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Heat and spray wax onto products after they are tested.
• Remove rust from metal using acid, a wire brush, or steel wool.
