About The Position

The Painter performs surface preparation activities including masking and sanding of products before painting or sandblasting. This role involves spray painting functions for preparatory undercoating, preservatives, and lubricants. The Painter is responsible for cleaning and maintaining paint shop equipment, ensuring coatings meet NOV or customer requirements, and managing hazardous waste. Additionally, the Painter will complete pre-use inspections and participate in facility inspections as directed.

Requirements

• Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years experience in industrial painting, some blasting may be required
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a fit test and wear a respirator
• Must be able to work in all climates
• Must be able to lift or move 25 pounds
• Ability to work overtime
• Occasional use of vehicles and or forklift required depending on business needs

Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation activities, which include masking and sanding of product prior to painting or sandblasting.
• Perform spray painting functions related preparatory undercoating, preservatives and lubricants.
• Clean and maintain paint shop equipment such as air lines, fluid lines, paint pots, paint guns and respirators.
• Ensure coatings are clad according to NOV or customer requirements.
• Clean and store empty paint containers for proper disposal.
• Maintain and change paint booth media filters and surface protectant coatings as needed.
• Properly contain hazardous waste generated from normal paint shop operations.
• Under general supervision, spray paint small, component parts prior to assembly and final coating.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
• Complete pre-use inspections as required
• Participate in facility inspections as directed
