What this job involves JLL is seeking an experienced Painter to support a premier pharmaceutical life sciences facility. This role demands precision, attention to detail, collaborative teamwork and unwavering commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will execute painting requests across GMP-classified environments and require flexibility for on-call response and ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a mission-critical manufacturing setting. Diligent training will be provided to ensure support for successful execution of assigned tasks. Working Environment: This position operates within a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing, research and development, and office complex. The role requires navigation of controlled environments and adherence to stringent pharmaceutical industry protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; successful completion of an apprenticeship
  • 1 year experience as a painter
  • Excellent knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix, and apply them
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
  • Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns, etc.)
  • Good basic math skills
  • Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc.
  • Conscientious attention to detail
  • Strong documentation skills and willingness to support compliance audits and performance metrics
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface across all organizational levels and with Client Key Stakeholders
  • Documented track record of delivering superior internal and external customer service
  • Self-directed work ethic with strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Availability for on-call response to support critical facility operations
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Organize daily tasks to execute assigned work orders and schedule
  • Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and incident forms with accuracy and in accordance with documentation standards
  • Achieve timely completion of assignments according to defined SLA’s; subject to regular quality audits
  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate supply list for procurement
  • Read specifications/instructions and examine surfaces to determine coating types and amount of work necessary
  • Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures, etc.
  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by sanding, scraping, removing old paint, priming, etc.
  • Overall drywall installation and repair to fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g., plaster, mudding, sanding, caulking)
  • Mix paint and other materials (including 2-part epoxy) to prepare the correct color, blend or texture
  • Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools and apply multiple types of finishes
  • Always maintain meticulous cleanliness, ensuring contamination control procedures and adhering to pharmaceutical industry standards
  • Maintain professional-grade tool and supply inventory and request supplies as needed to ensure operational readiness
  • Uphold consistent workspace organization and safety standards
  • Responsible for floor prep and finishing, including but not limited to epoxy coatings
  • Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions, including JLL/Client safety policies and all regulatory and legal requirements
  • Work in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or cleanroom environments, consistently following GMP protocols and site-specific SOPs
  • Interact with client representatives in a professional manner, demonstrating strong communication skills and a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Participate in performance reviews and audits based on workmanship quality, safety, and compliance metrics
  • All other duties as assigned
