About The Position

Tuscany Suites & Casino, located near the Las Vegas Strip and Convention Center, is seeking a Full-Time Painter to join their team. This role is responsible for a variety of painting and drywall tasks to maintain the property.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Able to work any shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke and high noise levels.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
  • Work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and apply paint to various surfaces including building, machinery, and equipment.
  • Match paint colors accurately based on techniques and specifications.
  • Perform drywall repairs and installation, including texturing and finishing.
  • Complete finish work on drywall, mud, and some trowel applications.
  • Perform color matching.
  • Conduct wood and metal framing/carpentry.
  • Repair and install wallpaper, dura rock, and stucco.
  • Complete full room preventative maintenance.
  • Assist engineers on special projects using general engineering hand tools.
  • Schedule rooms that are out of order for maintenance.
  • Perform smoke seals on fire doors.
  • Work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and safety equipment is used when handling paint, stains, and solvents.
  • Cover areas not being worked on with drop cloths or plastic.
  • Provide proper notification to other departments or employees when working in their areas.
  • Maintain an adequate stock of paint or drywall supplies for repairs and touch-ups.
  • Maintain a painting schedule for touch-ups throughout the facilities.
  • Bring all necessary supplies and tools to the work area and return them afterward.
  • Clean the work area before leaving, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, or rearranging items.
  • Adhere to all Building, Health, and Fire Department codes related to painting or drywall.
  • Follow OSHA safety requirements when working alone, around other employees, or guests.
  • Maintain MSDS sheets for all paint, stains, and solvents used.
  • Write purchase orders for necessary parts or supplies after approval from the Director of Facilities.
  • Follow daily or weekly checklists.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
