About The Position

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Boating Services Unit, is currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Contractual Painter based at DNR Matapeake Marine Terminal in Queen Anne's County. The incumbent will perform maintenance on navigational and regulatory buoys and/or markers.

Requirements

• Completion of eighth grade.
• One (1) year of experience in painting work.
• Anyone under the age of 18 must possess a valid Work Permit in the state of Maryland

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, painting and repairing of existing buoys or the preparation for new buoys
• Labeling buoys with the appropriate U.S. Coast Guard approved colors and verbiage
• Facilitating the pouring and finishing of concrete buoy weights
• Assisting the Maintenance Chief with maintenance requirements of the facility
• Operating various vehicles to transport buoys, unload weights, stocks buoy and other supplies
