3rd Shift Painter
About The Position
Transco Rail Services, a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings, is seeking a Painter to provide finished products based on customer specifications. This position offers on-the-job training for those willing to learn a new trade, as well as roles for more experienced painters with knowledge of blast, paint, and spray foam insulation. Transco Rail Services, along with Union Tank Car Company (UTLX) and Procor, delivers full-service railcar repair and maintenance through a broad North American network of fixed shops and mobile field service teams, serving freight and tank car fleets across multiple industries with a commitment to safety, compliance, quality, and reliable service.
Requirements
- Able to clean grease, dirt, rust, old paint from equipment using solvent, water, rags, brushes, pneumatic wire brush and chipping hammer.
- Knowledgeable in the use of painting/blasting tools not limited to paint guns, sanding tools and material blasters, grinding tools, etc.
- Mix and apply uniform paint coatings according to customer and industry specifications.
- Prepares equipment for painting and blasting restoration, tapes and mask equipment, mixes paint and color matches.
- Inspects finished product for overall quality and follow established safety procedures.
- Ability to work around chemicals and fumes common to paint and body repair.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as needed and perform tasks that require climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms.
- Able to pass drug screen and physical.
