About The Position
Heroux-Devtek is seeking a Painter to prepare and spray-paint parts or assemblies such as landing gear, hydraulic cylinders, and detail parts. The role also involves preparing various parts by performing identification and broaching operations in preparation for painting or delivery. This position is within a facility that is a center of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear, focusing on advanced manufacturing processes and automation to remain a leading value producer of complex landing gear components.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 2+ years’ experience working in a paint shop with manual air-guns
- Good sense of judgment and capacity to evaluate problems
- Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.
Nice To Haves
- Aerospace experience a bonus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Carries out a visual inspection of the part to be painted and ensures it is properly cleaned
- Adjusts pistols, prepares required mixtures according to the prescribed standards, cleans parts
- Performs occasionally masking and demasking operations
- Prepares mixtures of transparent sealant (CLEAR) and those required for operations of cosmetic painting (retouching), and performs their application using the equipment provided, whether manual or mechanical (brush, 'air brush', HVLP, etc.)
- Paints small (~2 foot) to large (~12 foot) titanium and steel parts using an HVLP gravity fed spray gun
- Maintain AS9100 documentation and quality standards
