About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of painting and related tasks in the maintenance department. The Painter will ensure that all assigned areas are painted according to established standards and specifications. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in painting and surface preparation.
Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
Ability to read and understand paint color charts and mixing instructions.
Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to painting.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including climbing ladders and lifting.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Experience with spray painting equipment.
Knowledge of different types of paints and their applications.
Experience in a school or institutional maintenance environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming.
Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
Mix paints and other coatings to achieve desired colors and consistency.
Perform repairs to surfaces as needed before painting.
Maintain painting equipment and tools in good working condition.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
Clean up work areas after completion of painting tasks.
Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed.
