About The Position

Johnson Controls is hiring a Weekend Shift Painter to contribute to the production of high-quality HVAC equipment. The role applies industrial coatings and finishes with precision and care, with emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The hiring hourly range starts at $18.50, with a shift premium and overtime; the final hourly rate depends on factors including the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, location, and market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience with industrial paints, including enamel, zinc, Carboline, Amerlock, epoxy, and thinners.
Knowledge of hazardous-waste handling, storage documentation, and environmental safety practices.
Knowledge of material and equipment preparation and mixing.
Ability to read measuring devices and perform math at a level normally acquired through completion of high school.
Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area and/or equipment.
Good hand dexterity for production work.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Vision corrected to 20/20.
Ability to understand and follow safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heavy equipment and machinery.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Apply industrial paints, thinners, and safety solvents to units and components using proper mixing and application techniques.
Mix materials to specifications and paint units or components using proper application techniques.
Perform hydro testing.
Perform housekeeping and other duties as required.
Participate actively in a Continuous Improvement Team as a condition of employment.
Follow safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
