About The Position

Our Painter is primarily responsible for applying proper painting techniques to components, engines, transmissions, cylinders and all types of vehicular equipment. Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.

Requirements

Ability to perform basic and more complicated mathematic fundamentals – add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Able to compute rates, ratios and percentages to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to wear proper PPE, including respirator and paint suit
Ability to solve practical problems and offer innovative solutions to unique problems as well as interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications

Nice To Haves

Familiarity operating forklift, overhead crane and rigging, painting equipment including paint gun, basic hand tools, sanders and pneumatic tools
Stable work history
Minimum one-year of experience as a skilled painter

Responsibilities

Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment while painting surfaces and using appropriate methods to include automotive grade finishes
Scrape, sandpaper, prime or seal surfaces prior to painting, set-up and operate machines to paint or coat products.
Clean and maintain coating and painting machines and measure thickness and quality of coating, using micrometer
Examine and test solutions, paints, products, and work pieces to ensure specifications are met while Operating auxiliary machines or equipment used in the coating or painting process.
