About The Position

The Painter position at Precision Pulley & Idler (PPI) is responsible for painting parts, components, and products according to schedule and supervisor instructions. This role requires an understanding of different paints and chemicals and their respective application processes. The Painter will ensure high-quality results and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read/interpret/follow instructions regarding workplace documentation (SOPs, Operator Manuals, Work Instructions, etc.).
  • Regular, consistent attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • One to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper storage, usage, and disposal of all chemicals.
  • Paint all required products with exceptional quality.
  • Assist in ordering paint and related equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing job-related training.
  • Clean and maintain the paint booth and equipment.
  • Change thinner and paint as necessary.
  • Color code products when specified.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance for the work area, paint booth, and system.
  • Record manometer readings and paint waste daily.
  • Perform all activities in a manner that protects and promotes the health, safety, and welfare of fellow workers, the community, and the environment.
  • Observe all plant safety rules applicable to the work.
  • Report all unsafe practices and conditions to the supervisor.
  • Strive to achieve the highest possible product quality.
