About The Position

Position Summary The Painter is responsible for preparing and painting vacant apartment homes to support unit readiness, leasing timelines, and overall property presentation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring each apartment meets company quality standards and delivers a strong first impression for incoming residents. The Painter works closely with the Maintenance and Property Management teams to complete unit turns efficiently while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship, cleanliness, and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in painting, general maintenance, or related field
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality and consistency
  • Working knowledge of painting tools, materials, and surface preparation techniques
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet unit turn deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional communication skills and ability to interact respectfully with residents and team members
  • Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and a safety-first mindset
  • Must maintain a personal tool kit appropriate for assigned work
  • Valid driver’s license required to operate company or personal vehicles for business use

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or related systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare apartment units for painting, including patching, sanding, caulking, and priming surfaces.
  • Complete full-unit repaints and touch-ups to support make-ready and move-in schedules.
  • Apply paint with a high-quality, professional finish while maintaining clean and organized work areas.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure company quality standards are met.
  • Assist with unit turns and general maintenance as needed while following all company safety policies and procedures.
