About The Position

This position would be responsible for painting all interior/exterior surfaces of the building using paint, varnish, lacquers, sealers or stains. The Painter will work from scheduled orders and verbal instructions to paint assigned areas. They will make a list of supplies required for individual assignments. Responsibilities include refinishing walls, ceilings, woodwork, sills, doors, furniture and other surfaces. The Painter will protect surrounding areas and furnishings with drop cloths and clean surfaces before painting. They may be required to mix, tint and stain finishes before application. This role may perform related work including, but not limited to, applying decals, transfers, painting signs, applying wallpaper and/or paper hangings, glazing, plastering, etc. The Painter may work indoors or outdoors as requested. This position is a member of the snow removal team and may assist with other maintenance assignments or emergency situations. The Painter will also participate as part of Mozaic Senior Life's fire brigade. Surface preparation for painting includes washing interior walls and woodwork, and filling cracks and holes; removing paint, rust or loose materials by sanding, brushing or scraping. The Painter may cut stencils and stencil surfaces and may make signs.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
1-2 years related experience
Valid CT State Motor Vehicle Driver's License

Responsibilities

Paint all interior/exterior surfaces of the building using paint, varnish, lacquers, sealers or stains.
Work from scheduled orders and verbal instructions to paint assigned areas.
Make a list of supplies required for individual assignments.
Refinish walls, ceilings, woodwork, sills, doors, furniture and other surfaces.
Protect surrounding areas and furnishings with drop cloths and clean surfaces before painting.
Work on ladders and scaffolds as required to reach overhead areas.
Place fresh paint signs, barriers and other warnings when working in populated areas.
Clean equipment used.
Mix, tint and stain finishes before application.
Perform related work including, but not limited to, applying decals, transfers, painting signs, applying wallpaper and/or paper hangings, glazing, plastering, etc.
Work indoors or outdoors as requested.
Serve as a member of the snow removal team.
Assist with other maintenance assignments or emergency situations.
Participate as part of Mozaic Senior Life's fire brigade.
Prepare surfaces for painting.
Wash interior walls and woodwork.
Fill cracks and holes; remove paint, rust or loose materials by sanding, brushing or scraping.
Cut stencils and stencil surface.
Make signs.
