About The Position

Tuscany Suites & Casino is seeking a Full-Time Painter to join their team. This role involves preparing and applying paint to various surfaces, performing drywall repairs and installation, and assisting with general maintenance tasks. The Painter will ensure work areas are clean, safe, and compliant with all relevant codes and regulations. This position requires the ability to work independently, manage supplies, and maintain a painting schedule. The role also involves interacting with guests and other departments, and may require working in environments with exposure to secondhand smoke and high noise levels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably from a hotel.
  • Able to work any shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke and high noise levels.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of techniques and principles of matching paint colors.
  • Knowledge of practices and techniques of hanging and patching drywall, including textures and leveling finishes.
  • Perform finish work on dry wall, mud, and some trowel.
  • Perform color match.
  • Perform wood and metal framing/carpentry.
  • Schedules out of order rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and apply paint to a wide variety of building, machinery, and equipment surfaces.
  • Match paint colors, including understanding primary colors, tinting capabilities, and reading color specifications.
  • Perform paint and drywall repairs and installation, including finishing work on drywall, mud, and some trowel applications.
  • Repair and install wallpaper, dura rock, stucco, etc.
  • Complete full room preventative maintenance.
  • Assist engineers on special projects.
  • Perform smoke seals on fire doors.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and safety equipment is used when handling paint, stain, and solvents.
  • Ensure that all areas not being worked on are properly covered.
  • Provide notification to other departments or employees when work is being performed in their areas.
  • Maintain a complete stock of paint or drywall supplies for repairs and touch-ups.
  • Maintain a painting schedule for touch-ups throughout the facilities.
  • Bring all necessary supplies and tools to the work area and return them afterward.
  • Clean the work area before leaving, which may include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, or rearranging items.
  • Follow all Building, Health, and Fire Department codes related to the painting or drywall trade.
  • Follow OSHA safety requirements.
  • Maintain MSDS sheets for all paint, stain, and solvents used.
  • Write purchase orders for necessary parts or supplies after approval.
  • Follow daily or weekly checklists.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
