About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the Painter performs a variety of skilled painting, patching, and repair tasks for walls, floors, ceilings, windows, doors, and trim of buildings. Additionally, the role involves finishing and refinishing furniture. The position requires reliable and prompt attendance and the ability to perform semi-skilled tasks using manual tools and some mechanical aptitude. The Painter is responsible for maintaining the physical appearance of buildings, both inside and out, through patching and painting, and for repairing and refinishing various furniture items and equipment. The role also includes weekend and after-hours coverage as needed or assigned, and adherence to Milestone Inc.'s human rights philosophy and policies, including reporting any interventions to appropriate agencies and/or supervisors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18 years old
• Two years’ experience in painting buildings, commercial and residential
• Able to work independently after receiving oral/written directions
• Must have a valid driver’s license/good driving record when specified
• No weight restrictions

Responsibilities

• Reliable, prompt attendance.
• Performs a variety of tasks of a semi-skilled nature requiring the manual use of tools and some mechanical aptitude.
• Maintain the physical appearance of the buildings inside and out by patching and painting.
• Repairing of furniture and refinishing of dressers, chairs, tables, and equipment.
• Will be on weekend/after-hours coverage as needed and/or as assigned.
• Perform painting duties as assigned by supervisor.
• In compliance with Milestone Inc.’s philosophy and policies regarding Human Rights, immediately intervene on behalf of the individual(s) served and reports to the appropriate agency (OIG, DCFS, IDPH) and/or supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
