About The Position

Painter Apprentices will complete a 6,000 hr. program consisting of on-the-job training and class room studies that are designed to give them maximum exposure to many different skills aboard naval vessels. Paint workers in the marine environment are responsible for blasting, spraying, brush painting and many other coating processes within the marine shipbuilding industry. Painter Apprentices must be able to operate many types of equipment and gauges in relation to blasting and spraying.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or have completed your GED.
  • You must provide the following information at time of Intake Interview:
  • - Original High School or G.E.D. transcripts (your diploma will not be accepted)
  • - Any college or vocational transcripts or certificates
  • - Driver's License or State ID
  • - Original Social Security Card (or form from Social Security office stating that you have applied)
  • Original Birth Certificate
  • - DD214 if former military
