About The Position

This full-time position involves the cleaning, painting, and minor repair of crane components and accessories. The role requires effective communication, collaboration, and a commitment to customer service. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, dependable, and possess strong problem-solving skills. Attention to detail, adaptability to change, and the ability to multitask are essential. Responsibilities include preparing crane components for painting, maintaining the paint booth, understanding paint equipment and waste disposal, and applying primer and finish coatings. The role also involves minor repair and service of shop equipment, learning to operate machinery and power tools, and utilizing proper rigging equipment. Maintenance of tools and shop equipment, ensuring lifting equipment is safe, and strict adherence to all company safety rules, policies, and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), are critical. The position requires representing the company professionally, maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment, and reporting unsafe conditions. Employees are expected to maintain a clear workspace, assist co-workers, and work overtime as needed. All employees must comply with company work and safety rules and maintain safe work behavior.

  • May be required to maintain a Crane Operator Qualification.
  • May be required to complete rigger/signaling training and/or may be required to complete rigging/signal person certification.
  • Employees are expected to maintain a clear and orderly workspace, assist co-workers whenever possible and work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, painting, and minor repair of crane components and accessories.
  • Clean and prepare crane components for painting.
  • Maintain and keep paint booth clean and operational.
  • Understand paint equipment, cleaning, and paint waste disposal.
  • Proper application of primer and finish paint coatings.
  • Minor repair and service of shop equipment and machines.
  • Learn and operate shop machinery and power tools.
  • Utilize proper rigging equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on tools and shop equipment.
  • Ensure lifting equipment is in safe operating condition prior to use.
  • Follow all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times, including proper usage of Company-supplied PPE.
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner.
  • Notify the Shop Foreman or District Service Manager of unsafe conditions and/or practices.
  • Safeguard tools and equipment belonging to the Company.
  • Work at heights as required.
  • Work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, according to business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by District Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
