About The Position

This role involves the cleaning, painting, and minor repair of crane components and accessories. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing crane components for painting, maintaining the paint booth, understanding paint equipment and waste disposal, and properly applying primer and finish paint coatings. Additionally, the role includes minor repair and service of shop equipment and machines, learning to operate shop machinery and power tools, and utilizing proper rigging equipment. Maintenance and preventative maintenance on tools and shop equipment are also key responsibilities, as is ensuring lifting equipment is in safe operating condition. Adherence to all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. The position requires representing the Company professionally, safeguarding company tools and equipment, and notifying supervisors of unsafe conditions. The role may involve working at heights and lifting up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, is expected.

  • May be required to maintain a Crane Operator Qualification.
  • May be required to complete rigger/signaling training and/or may be required to complete rigging/signal person certification.
  • All sensory requirements (speech, vision, smell, touch, hearing) are required.
  • Employees are expected to maintain a clear and orderly workspace, assist co-workers whenever possible and work overtime when necessary.
  • All Morrow employees are required to comply with Company work and safety rules and maintain safe work behavior at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and preparing crane components for painting.
  • Maintaining and keeping the paint booth clean and operational.
  • Understanding of paint equipment, cleaning, and paint waste disposal.
  • Proper application of primer and finish paint coatings.
  • Minor repair and service of shop equipment and machines.
  • Learning and operating shop machinery and power tools.
  • Utilizing proper rigging equipment.
  • Performing maintenance and preventative maintenance on tools and shop equipment.
  • Ensuring lifting equipment is in safe operating condition prior to use.
  • Following all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures, including proper usage of Company-supplied PPE.
  • Representing the Company in a professional manner, including wearing Company-supplied MEC Branded shirts or uniforms, and proper maintenance of Company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Notifying the Shop Foreman or District Service Manager of unsafe conditions and/or practices.
  • Safeguarding tools and equipment belonging to the Company.
  • Working at heights as required.
  • Working extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, according to business needs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by District Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
  • Maintaining a clear and orderly workspace.
  • Assisting co-workers whenever possible.
