The Painter II prepares and paints surfaces in residential and/or commercial settings, protects work areas, finishes drywall, maintains tools and equipment, and follows safety and incident-reporting procedures. The role involves indoor work and travel around the Chicagoland area.

Requirements

• Five years of residential and/or commercial painting experience.
• Physical stamina and strength.
• A safety-management mindset.
• Focus on quality and process.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Chicagoland area.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification in painting or a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Cover surfaces with cloth, plastic, or other appropriate materials to protect them during painting.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping and sanding.
• Apply joint compound and tape to drywall to create a finished wall surface.
• Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler.
• Apply paint or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and arranging repairs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Follow safety rules and regulations, including properly using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow safety and incident-reporting procedures and bring problems to the attention of operations.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
