About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining JLL-managed properties by ensuring buildings remain safe, functional, and visually appealing for client operations. This hands-on position involves performing general building maintenance, repairs, and painting across interior and exterior surfaces while responding to tenant service requests and facility emergencies. You'll serve as a key contributor to operational excellence by conducting preventive maintenance, facility inspections, and repairs that directly impact client satisfaction and building performance. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude with proven ability to troubleshoot and repair building systems and components.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., with capacity to safely perform overhead work while standing on ladders up to 28 ft.
  • Physical capability to regularly walk, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, lift, push, and pull in order to test and perform maintenance tasks throughout the workday.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to document work activities, report facility conditions, and interact professionally with tenants and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an applicable technical training program in facilities maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related trade.
  • Experience with building management systems documentation and work order tracking software.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal protocols in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Previous experience in commercial property or corporate facility maintenance environments.
  • Trade certifications or licenses in specialized areas such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or locksmith services.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, prime, and paint building interior and exterior surfaces while performing general handyman tasks including hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing office furniture systems.
  • Repair and maintain building components including doors, locks, locking mechanisms, closers, furniture, controllers, and structural elements to ensure proper building functionality.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing systems including toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, and sump pumps to prevent service disruptions.
  • Perform HVAC maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, changing filters and belts, and supporting building climate control systems.
  • Conduct assigned facility inspections and due diligence assessments, documenting conditions that impact client occupancy and operations while completing hazard assessments as necessary.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, tenant service requests, and special assignments including locksmith work, furniture moves, and equipment relocation as requested.
  • Maintain documentation for fire extinguishers and other building systems, complete work performance records, track materials procurement, and perform vehicle safety inspections in compliance with safety procedures.
