About The Position

NOV Rig Technologies is part of NOV, a provider of technology, equipment, and services to the global oil and gas industry. The Painter/Blaster performs surface preparation and painting work on products and component parts, including preparation before painting or sandblasting, undercoating, and application of preservatives and lubricants. The role maintains paint shop equipment and work areas, ensures coatings meet NOV or customer requirements, and handles paint containers and hazardous waste appropriately. Work is performed under general supervision, with other related tasks assigned as needed, in compliance with company and HSE policies and procedures.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in industrial blasting and painting.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled facility.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Must show initiative.
• Must contribute to and work well within a team.
• Must possess safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation, including masking and sanding products before painting or sandblasting.
• Perform spray painting and apply preparatory undercoating, preservatives, and lubricants.
• Clean and maintain paint shop equipment, including air lines, fluid lines, paint pots, paint guns, and respirators.
• Ensure coatings comply with NOV or customer requirements.
• Clean and store empty paint containers for proper disposal.
• Maintain and change paint booth media filters and surface protectant coatings as needed.
• Properly contain hazardous waste generated by normal paint shop operations.
• Under general supervision, spray paint small component parts before assembly and final coating.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with NOV company and HSE policies and procedures.
