About The Position

FAST Global Solutions is seeking a Painter Blaster on night shift at our Falls City, Nebraska location. This role involves abrading surfaces of parts by sand blasting to remove adhering scale, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt. The Painter Blaster will also operate cone, disk, or nozzle type electrostatic painting equipment within designated paint booths and perform other miscellaneous tasks as supervision deems necessary. Requirements

  • Experience as a Painter Blaster
  • Ability to operate electrostatic painting equipment
  • Ability to mix paint according to specifications
  • Ability to inspect painted units for flaws

Responsibilities

  • Abrasive surfaces of parts by sand blasting to remove adhering scale, paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt.
  • Operate cone, disk, or nozzle type electrostatic painting equipment within designated paint booths.
  • Shovel or pour abrasives such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
  • Mask specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
  • Load parts on racks in enclosed rooms, into tumbling barrels, or into cabinets.
  • Regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle or into tumbling barrel.
  • Start equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive laden compressed air, gas, or liquid over surface of parts.
  • Direct nozzle over surface of large parts or insert arms through glove fitted cabinet openings and manipulate small parts under nozzle for specified interval.
  • Examine finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Adjust valves and observe gauges to set pressure and to control flow of paint to each spray station.
  • Inspect painted units for runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
  • Readjust pressure valves to control direction and pattern of spray and to correct flaws in coating.
  • Clean paint from ceiling and walls of booth, conveyor hooks or grid, and from disks, cones, spray heads, and hoses.
  • Hand spray parts to cover unpainted areas or apply rust preventative.
  • Mix paint according to specifications with viscometer to regulate consistency.
