Painter Assistant - Weekend Shift

About The Position

Responsible for supporting and assisting professional painters in their daily tasks. This includes using, supplying, and holding materials or tools for the Painter, cleaning the work area, and setting up parts to paint.

Requirements

Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures.
Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures.
Possess basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities including basic data entry into manufacturing software system.
Ability to read and write the English language.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

Applies knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, using spray painting equipment, power tools, and work aids.
Strips, sands, masks, and touches up surfaces, and manually blends finish to match surrounding areas.
Regulates controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings.
Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with industry standards.
Records types and amounts of paints used for environmental regulation reporting.
Records completion of painting operations on planning documents.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by cleaning paint booth area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Reports to work on time, follows instructions from supervisor or management, interacts well with co-workers, understands and follows work rules and procedures.
Crosstrains in different processes within the department.
Cleans the site after painting work is done.
Performs other various duties as needed or as assigned.
