About The Position

This job requires basic to advanced knowledge of the paint process, including varying amounts of general paint applications as listed below. Job duties will vary each day as designated by the Lead or Manager. Must perform all work in accordance with applicable FAA regulations, the company AMM and SRM regarding the daily tasks on the airframe.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license approved for airline travel
  • Proficient in using aviation tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing methods to ensure airworthiness
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow aircraft maintenance manuals and FAA regulations
  • Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail and a commitment to precision workmanship.
  • Skilled at navigating tough conversations and upholding safety standards
  • Must have regular attendance and be able to work overtime when needed and potentially work alternate shifts as determined by aircraft schedules and manpower needs.
  • Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and maintain a rapid pace.
  • Quality oriented.
  • Ability to read detailed drawings and understand renderings.
  • Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
  • Maintain customer service-oriented work habits.
  • Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and US Passport (preferred).
  • At least 5-10 years current corporate jet experience, stripping, sanding, priming and painting corporate or commercial aircraft or the equivalent.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States without sponsorship
  • Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. This includes verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and any other relevant information necessary to determine the suitability for the position.
  • This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive role under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with FAA guidelines
  • Adhere to all relevant procedures, whether communicated verbally or in writing, when executing assigned responsibilities that involve the utilization of a respirator and undergoing a PFT (pulmonary function test).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting by verifying masking is complete and performing all required surface preparation, including sanding primer, scuffing, cleaning, and solvent wipe-downs.
  • Clean aircraft using approved thinners and ensure all surfaces are free of contaminants prior to paint application.
  • Clean and maintain paint booths and work areas to ensure a safe, organized, and contamination-free environment.
  • Mix paints, primers, and coatings in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
  • Apply primer, base coats, and topcoats using proper spray techniques to achieve high-quality, durable finishes.
  • Layout aircraft paint schemes, measure and apply striping, and accurately mask aircraft for trim colors and design specifications.
  • Prepare painted surfaces for trim application by scuffing, sanding, and re-masking as required.
  • Perform aircraft detailing and final finish work to ensure a professional appearance and compliance with quality standards.
  • Inspect completed paintwork and stripped/sanded surfaces to verify workmanship meets company, customer, and quality control requirements.
  • Identify and correct paint defects, imperfections, or inconsistencies prior to final inspection.
  • Safely operate and maintain paint equipment, spray guns, sanding tools, and other related equipment.
  • Follow all FAA regulations, OSHA safety requirements, environmental regulations, and company policies related to aircraft painting operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while properly handling hazardous materials and disposing of waste in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with Lead Painters, Supervisors, and other maintenance personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Lead, Manager, or Supervisor.
