About The Position

The Maintenance HVAC/R Technician 1 effectively improves and repairs air quality units in buildings and departments to provide a safe and well-maintained work environment in an exemplary manner according to the company quality policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Minimum one year experience residential/commercial/ Industrial facility painting and Drywall repair
Experience utilizing the different types of paint (Latex, Epoxy, Enamel) relative to specific application
Ability to pass written and practical tests to obtain company hi-lo/forklift and crane license
Computer literacy
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Must not wear tinted safety glasses, or have a need for tinted safety glasses
An excellent work record, including attendance

Nice To Haves

three to five years preferred experience residential/commercial/ Industrial facility painting and Drywall repair

Responsibilities

Create and update a current list of areas needing painting and refurbishment.
Suggest methods, materials, and ideas involving the updating and maintenance of the facility.
Follow CAD layouts and measurements to complete projects.
Assist Maintenance Technicians, Electricians, Facilities team and outside contractors in major maintenance projects and repairs.
Create proper Preventative Maintenance schedules and, if necessary, assign asset numbers to existing, replacement and new equipment, to plan the most efficient performance for painting equipment and materials.
Efficiently and effectively perform routine maintenance on all previously identified paint equipment.
Perform daily/weekly/monthly preventative maintenance inspections and repairs of the building and floors, to maintain a painted and clean appearance.
Contact local vendors for pricing and availability of parts needed for paint and epoxy projects.
Document hours and work order activity daily in record-keeping system-Electronic Asset Management (EAM).
Provide a bill of material, timeline, and layout of assigned projects.
Identify and attempt to eliminate areas of waste for better efficiency and overall appearance of building.
Participate in, and support lean initiatives such as continuous improvement events and problem-solving events, identifying and eliminating all types of waste
Suggest and implement ideas to increase personal and departmental efficiency.
Communicate potential cost savings to other Technicians and Team Leaders.
Participate in 8D and 5-Why problem-solving teams.
Ensure all areas are clean and painted to expected standards.
Assist in updating improvement plans and actions.
Continue to keep up with the latest changes in paint chemistry and appropriate solutions for the industry. (Vendor seminars, trade shows, and supplied documentation.)
Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures, including ISO, TS 16949 and safety regulations.
Follow all safety procedures, including MIOSHA regulatory requirements regarding machinery and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), controls, safety devices, lock-out/tag-out, use of coolants, and die block procedures.
Operate department Hilo(s), boom lifts, scissors lifts, and overhead cranes.
Identify potential safety issues and take appropriate action.
Ensure environment is free of avoidable risks, and report concerns immediately, taking appropriate action to immediately rectify and resolve.
Organize and maintain personal work area and facilities maintenance area per 5S standards.
Notify Team Leader if repair or replacement of machinery or equipment is needed.
Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.
Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Facilities Team Leader.
Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management, including training and validating/appraising work as appropriate.
Effectively communicate with co-workers in production and maintenance and management personnel to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives.
Accept instructions and duties in a positive manner, while treating all co-workers with dignity and respect.
Pick up and deliver product to suppliers and customers, as needed.
Assist in maintaining company values (Integrity, People, Customers, Ownership, We Can If.... Safety) daily, through thoughts and actions.
