Your Role: As a Paint Technician, you’ll help ensure our products meet Cornwell’s high standards for quality, durability, and appearance. This is a hands-on role focused on powder coating equipment, process control, troubleshooting, maintenance, and quality.

Requirements

  • Vocational school or technical training, 2-4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of powder coating processes and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, procedures, and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to use internal computer software and systems.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual, semi-automatic, and robotic powder coating spray systems.
  • Complete color changes, create spray recipes and sequences, and track changeover times.
  • Set and monitor bake/cure oven temperatures and process times.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for defects and verify film thickness.
  • Perform pretreatment quality control testing and make adjustments to out-of-spec parts.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues and make necessary corrections.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, cleaning, lubrication, and equipment adjustments.
  • Maintain spray equipment, fixtures, blast cabinets, tools, and replacement wear items.
  • Identify coating defects, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop, document, test, and maintain programs for paint equipment.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation.
  • Report equipment, process, safety, and quality concerns to leadership.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and cross-training initiatives.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures.
