About The Position

MasterMold is seeking a driven, hands-on, and detail-oriented Second Shift Paint Supervisor to oversee the evening operations of our Paint Department at our Mauston, Wisconsin facility. This position is responsible for leading the second shift paint team while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. The Second Shift Paint Supervisor will coach and develop employees, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Human Resources to achieve departmental and company objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Strong knowledge of industrial painting processes, including wet spray and powder coating.
  • Experience troubleshooting paint processes, robotic equipment, and production issues.
  • Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and production tracking systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop second shift paint leads and production employees.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and support employee development.
  • Ensure staffing levels and work assignments meet production requirements.
  • Promote effective communication between first and second shifts to ensure operational continuity.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, attendance, performance management, and training initiatives.
  • Oversee all paint department operations, including surface preparation, masking, paint application, robot operations, finesse and touch-up, rework, assembly, and final inspection.
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications and MasterMold quality standards.
  • Monitor paint line performance and troubleshoot equipment, robotic systems, and process issues.
  • Review production schedules and prioritize work to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Analyze production metrics and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Support process development, equipment trials, and new product launches.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to eliminate waste and improve overall performance.
  • Assist in developing and implementing standardized work instructions and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance on equipment improvements, fixtures, tooling, and automation projects.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate and reinforce department safety training.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations and paint process requirements.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to resolve production and quality concerns.
  • Promote a culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
