About The Position
Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Refinish Prepper to prepare vehicles for quality refinish repairs and restore them to pre-accident condition. The role involves thoroughly sanding, masking, priming, and preparing vehicles for refinishing in accordance with insurance guidelines and collision repair facility standards. Compensation is flat rate at $15.50–$20.50 per hour, based on turned (booked) hours, with a minimum-wage guarantee based on clocked hours where applicable. Compensation is commensurate with skill, education, and experience; the position may also be eligible for bonuses tied to individual or business initiatives. Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces, including sanding, masking, and priming, for refinishing.
- Apply primers, sealers, basecoats, color coats, and clear coats.
- Restore anti-corrosion treatments; identify substrates; and mix and apply products.
- Evaluate bodywork to help ensure a quality paint job.
- Prepare each vehicle for a quality refinish repair and restoration to pre-accident condition in accordance with insurance guidelines and facility standards.
