About The Position

Crash Champions is hiring a Paint Prepper to prepare vehicle surfaces and assist the paint team with collision repair work. This position uses a commission/flag-rate pay structure; flag pay is guaranteed to meet local minimum-wage requirements for all hours worked each week. The stated compensation range represents average flag pay for a typical full-time employee in this position: $43,520 to $100,000 per year. Actual offers depend on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, and qualifications. Compensation and benefits information may be modified by the company, subject to applicable law. Requirements

Prior experience in the vehicle paint process.
Ability to receive directions and work well with others.
Must be able to pass a thorough background check.

I-CAR certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
Assist the painter with pre-paint blending needs.
Work with the paint team to help keep vehicles on track for scheduled delivery times.
Fill small dents or scratches with body fillers and smooth surfaces to prepare vehicles for painting.
Buff and wax finished paintwork.
Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning.
