About The Position

The Paint Prepper prepares surfaces for painting according to customer specification. This is an experienced/intermediate level role where the individual uses hands-on skills to perform work. They have acquired skills from training and work experience, have limited autonomy, and work under moderate supervision. They achieve competency with skills assigned to this level.

Requirements

Capable of meeting schedules and time allowances for production requirements.
Ability to comprehend detailed instructions.
Attention to detail.
Intermediate to advanced math skills.
Excellent eye and hand coordination.
Ability to use hand tools and other pneumatic tools.
Ability to properly weigh and mix chemicals.
Must meet ITAR export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

2 - 3 years experience in Aerospace and similar role
Experience with sander, Bondo and/or mudding.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
1+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to utilize computers and related technology efficiently.

Responsibilities

Performs surface preparation, including sanding, taping and cleaning.
Perform simple rework according to customer specification.
Maintain accurate documentation.
Proper disposal of unused chemicals.
