About The Position

As a Pack Operator, you’ll be part of our Shelbyville Manufacturing team working as an on-site employee. You’ll get to load and unload blades at a productive rate, maintaining quality levels according to control plans, and using safe work ethics (PPE, MSDS and machine hazards). You will perform visual quality inspection of each saw blade, accurately update all move tags and piece counts, and be responsible for identifying and communicating possible problems. You will report any abnormal situations, including crashes, incorrect set-up, incorrect move tags or incorrect control plans. You will operate, change over, adjust, troubleshoot, and clean machines and equipment as needed while maintaining proper flow of product to meet service level goals. You will maintain a safe work environment for yourself and other associates, exemplifying 6S principals, and ensure all products meet specifications, maintain quality standards of product following quality assurance on FPI. You will properly fill out all documentation and labels and properly handle all scrap, rework, and mixed product. You will also perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to use and operate basic tools, equipment, & gages
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and standard work instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Light physical effort required, equivalent to lifting, pushing, pulling 5 to 25 pounds
  • Ability to read and write English; understand and comprehend instructions for safety and quality

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Flexibility to work overtime
