About The Position

This position is responsible for the overall technical performance of the continuous paint line at UA. The Paint Line Technician will ensure that all mechanical components of the line are fully functioning at all times including conveyor lines, hooks, trolleys, paint lines, air lines, wash stations, paint guns, reclaim system, oven and dry off components. This position is required to do titrations and regular line inspection. This is considered a working technical role which means this individual is responsible for the line itself as well as assisting in daily production duties as the situation dictates.

Requirements

  • Some exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
  • Previous experience or exposure to powder paint application and processes
  • Keen sense of attention to detail
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measure, caliper, basic hand tools and air tools
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Manual dexterity
  • Hand/eye coordination
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Perform all duties in conjunction with UAI and ISO requirements
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist

Responsibilities

  • Follows safe manufacturing and material handling practices
  • Measures and records daily titration levels and activities
  • Documents line issues and reports/resolves as appropriate
  • Recommends methods/ideas for improvement in line efficiency/throughput/capabilities
  • Ensures quality product enters and leaves the line
  • Responsible for ensuring new employees assigned to the continuous line are properly trained and understand expected performance behaviors to be successful
  • Communicates with other shifts to ensure smooth transitions between shift changes – reports out issues to Supervisor/Management as required
  • Able to follow specific instructions and directions, stay on task and utilize time wisely
  • Ensure appropriate wastewater treatment procedures are followed daily
  • Follows and implements hanging and unloading best practices
  • Able to use and troubleshoot both manual and automatic powder painting equipment
