About The Position

Assists the paint department by performing various duties related to the paint line operations. This includes loading and unloading parts, masking, packaging, paperwork completion, and maintaining a clean work area. The role also involves assisting the Paint Line Supervisor or Leads person and other department employees when needed.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• Prior forklift experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads parts onto the paint line per instructions on the paint line monitor.
• Uses lifting devices when needed.
• Masks parts per instructions on the monitor.
• Packages parts properly for safe shipment to the customer and counts parts accurately while packaging.
• Completes paperwork as required, including quality sign off sheets and signing of job travelers.
• Cleans and organizes work area.
• Assists the Paint Line Supervisor or Leads person with any other duties as required.
• Helps other department employees as needed when the line has stopped.
• Able to use visual system and add new jobs as needed.
