This role is responsible for loading and unloading components onto an automated paint line, maintaining high quality standards, and ensuring paint equipment is operating efficiently. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and flexibility to work rotating shifts. All required training, including specialized respirator training and mandatory fit testing for tight-fitting respirators, is provided in-house to ensure success in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work and rotate across all three shifts (Days, Afternoons, Nights).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive lifting utilizing hoists.
  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and basic computer literacy for logging production records.
  • Ability to successfully complete and maintain fit testing for tight-fitting respirators as required by company safety standards.
  • Applicants must be a Canadian Citizen or hold a Permanent Residency.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload parts from the automated paint line using a pneumatic hoist.
  • Maintain paint equipment by cleaning paint tips and making necessary adjustments to spray guns.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting of paint equipment malfunctions.
  • Participate in mandatory in-house respirator training and complete successful fit testing for tight-fitting respirators.
  • Check the viscosity of the paint to ensure process control and optimal application.
  • Measure paint dry/wet film thickness using provided measurement devices to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Visually inspect completed parts to maintain a high-quality standard.
  • Complete required process and quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support other production areas as needed through cross-training and job rotation.
  • Respond positively to changing priorities and production schedules.
  • Perform all tasks in compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Keep work area clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Operate the paint line safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure product quality by following standard instructions, checking viscosity, and measuring paint thickness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for production, paint metrics, and quality checks.
  • Contribute to a safe, clean work environment and actively participate in required respirator safety protocols, including maintaining a proper seal and passing periodic fit testing for tight-fitting respirators.
  • Support continuous improvement and flexibility within the production team.
