Paint Line Operator - Day Shift

About The Position

This position will be responsible for the application of paint products in accordance with customer specifications and requirements. The role involves following standard work, training guides, procedures, and acceptance criteria to meet customer needs. It requires the ability to use paint spray equipment, sanding equipment, and various hand tools, as well as maintaining and cleaning spray guns and related equipment. The operator will also follow build boards and Kanban system requirements, report inconsistencies or defects, and maintain a positive work atmosphere. This role helps the company meet its Strategic, Quality, and Safety objectives.

Requirements

• Walking and standing to a significant degree.
• Working in tight spaces with areas less than 30” possible.
• Ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
• Ability to paint correctly while laying on the floor.
• Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
• Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for most activities.
• Visual acuity is required to inspect work before and after completion.
• Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and display a positive attitude and behavior consistent with the Steffes Code of Conduct and Core Values.
• Perform work in compliance with EHS training and identified procedures/standard work. Report any EHS incident or concern to your supervisor immediately. Cooperate and contribute to the overall success of the EHS program.
• Participate in job-specific training. Complete work as indicated by standard work, processes, and/or procedures. If your work can’t be completed as required, notify your supervisor immediately for guidance.
